Here we have a beautiful Vintage post war Gibson L-50 circa 1947 with carved spruce top with a beautifully aged sunburst finish. Mahogany neck, back, and sides with no cracks or repairs. The action and playability of this guitar is very good. There is a little fret wear in the first couple of frets under the E and B strings as expected on a guitar of this age with original frets. The original lacquer finish has lots of awesome looking checking. The back of the neck for some reason is especially checked with lots of areas where the finish has flaked off, it actually looks awesome!!! The Tortoise-shell celluloid pickguard still remains on the guitar
We believe it is all original except for the tuning key buttons that had rotted and decayed beyond being useful so they were replaced with new replicas. There are also two additions to the guitar to attach a strap that are obviously not original.
There are no visible FON or serial numbers or markings inside the guitar, so our best guess at the year is 1947.
