The 1972 Gibson ES-335TD is a vintage semi-hollow electric guitar built in the Norlin Era of Gibson production. The TD stands for thinline double pickup guitar. It features a laminated maple body with a solid maple center block, a set mahogany neck, and dual humbucker pickups. A notable features of the 1972 model year is the T-Top humbuckers with short-lived "Gibson-embossed" pickup covers.

Gibson produced pickups with an embossed logo on the cover for a brief period between late 1970 and early 1973. While some were used in the company's Kalamazoo factory for new guitars, many found their way into instruments throughout 1972. These vintage pickups are now considered a desirable rarity.

The guitar sports it's original sunburst lacquer finish with some subtle but classy looking checking and player wear. The guitar sounds and plays great and has some fret wear. At some time there was a small 1/4" hole drilled in the top for reasons unknown?? The pots, switch, and wiring look to be all original. The pot date code is 13772 signifying 1972. It has the early 1970's neck volute,

The tuning keys have been changed to Gotoh tuners BUT the originals are in the period correct guitar case.
